What a tour link is like
Every Hausplat tour has its own link. Whoever gets it opens it in the browser on a phone or a computer and starts walking through the room: no app to install, no account to create.
On a phone, viewers drag with one finger to look around, use the on-screen joystick to walk and double-tap to move to that spot. On a computer, they drag with the mouse and walk with the W, A, S and D keys or the arrow keys. The viewer has a help panel with these controls and a button to go back to the starting point.
Tours don't show up in search engines or any public listing: only people with the link can see them.
Before you send it
Check these once per tour; after that, send the link as many times as you like.
- Open it yourself on a phone first, the way your client will see it.
- Choose the opening view. It is the first thing people see when they open the link. In the studio you find the best angle, for example from the doorway looking toward the window, and set it.
- Delete what doesn't belong. Floaters left in the air or whatever shows through the window, with the lasso or the studio's crop box.
- Give it a clear name. The tour name shows in the viewer and in the browser tab: "Living room, 2-bed on Main St" says more than "Video 1".
By WhatsApp or text
A bare link with no context looks like spam or gets left for later. Tell your client what it is and how to use it, in a line or two.
- One link per room. Each room is a tour. Send the two or three that matter most to that person, each with its name: "Living room", "Kitchen", "Terrace".
- Before the showing, not instead of it. Send it ahead of time so they can explore calmly and arrive knowing what they want to see.
- In WhatsApp Status or Stories, a vertical video catches the eye more than a bare link. You can make that video from the same tour (see property videos for social media), and send the tour to whoever gets in touch.
Sample messages
Hi [name], here's the 3D tour of the living room at [address]. Open the link on your phone or computer: drag with your finger to look around and use the joystick to walk. [link]
As promised, here's the kitchen from the inside: [link]. If you like it, let's set up a showing this week.
Sending you the living room and the terrace so you can walk through them before Saturday: [link] and [link].
In your listings
- On listing sites. If the site you list on has a field for a virtual tour or a video, paste the link there. Before adding it to the description, check that site's rules about links in the text.
- On your website. A clear button or link on each property, next to the photos: "Walk through the living room in 3D".
- On Instagram and Facebook. Post the walkthrough video and put the tour link wherever the platform allows it, such as your bio or a story with a link.
- In a brochure or an email. The link works the same in a property PDF or an email to your contacts.
At the office or on a video call
The tour works in person too. Open it on a computer or tablet to show the property to someone who drops by the office, or share your screen on a video call and walk through the room while you talk through the details.
After you send it
Ask your client what they thought and what they want to see at the showing. The tour doesn't replace the visit: the point is that they arrive with a clear picture and specific questions.
If you don't have a tour yet, start with how to make a virtual tour with your phone.
